IDEA House Community Services

IDEA House Community Services has been formed to provide a variety of charitable activities to benefit the community; focusing on minority populations, including (but not limited to) individuals with disabilities, children and adults with life-threatening illnesses, the elderly, impoverished, and chronic mental health conditions.  In addition, IHCS will provide educational and awareness information to the general public, regarding ways to support and volunteer with the above-named populations.  

Specific events and campaigns will immediately occur to raise funds to be used in the following ways:


  • Direct or indirect services provided to assist in educational programs that will lead to increased employment opportunities for individuals with disabilities, including job training and transition services.

  • Direct or indirect services to provide appropriate leisure activities for individuals belonging to one of the above-named minority populations.

  • Partial or full tuition to assist in the educational programs (school choice) for individuals with disabilities or chronic physical or mental health impairments that make alternative schooling programs an optimal service delivery method.

  • Family support groups and respite care for caregivers of individuals belonging to the above-named populations.

  • Donations to other non-profit organizations that provide direct service to individuals belonging to the above-named populations.

  • Emergency provision of goods or services to individuals and their families in response to financial or health crisis situations.

  • Awareness and educational programs designed to increase public education and support of programs supporting individuals in the above-named populations.

  • Scholarships may be awarded to individuals pursuing higher education to receive certification or licensure to work with individuals belonging to one of the above-named minority populations.

Future events and campaigns will occur to raise funds to be used in the following ways:

  • Establishment of employment opportunities for the individuals in the above-named populations, which may include actual or online companies employing a minimum of 33% of its total staff from the minority populations named above.

  • Day or residential programs for individuals in the above-named populations.

  • Housing assistance for independent or semi-independent living for individuals in the above-named populations.


A portion of funds raised will be used to provide physical structures in which services may be provided, goods and services required to provide named assistance, staffing to provide direct and indirect services, staff development activities, and promotional materials.


IDEA House Community Services may receive operational funds through the following :

  • Grants through organizations providing financial assistance to non-profit organizations.

  • Donations from private and business institutions; including IDEA House Educational Services, LLC.

  • The Ohio Autism Scholarship

  • The Jon Peterson Scholarship for students with special needs

  • Other state-sponsored scholarship programs

  • Donations from other non-profit establishments

  • Donations of financial assistance or real property from private, public, or governmental entities.


Fund raising activities will include, but may not be limited to:

  • Specific social or educational events, with proceeds designated to be received by IDEA House Community Services.

  • Specific social or educational events, with proceeds designated to be received by other non-profit organizations that provide direct services to the above-named populations.

  • The sale of goods or services, with proceeds designated to be received by IDEA House Community Services.

  • The sale of goods or services, with proceeds designated to be received by other non-profit organizations that provide direct services to the above-named populations.

  • Raffle or auction style events, with proceeds designated to be received by IDEA House Community Services.

  • Raffle or auction style events, with proceeds designated to be received by other non-profit organizations that provide direct services to the above-named populations.

  • Direct donation solicitations of monetary, property, or goods with proceeds designated to be received by IDEA House Community Services.

IDEA House Community Services is in the beginning stages. We have officially been approved to be a non-profit. We have decided to branch from just IDEA House Educational Services to also include others in need. We are getting the specifics with board members and fundraising and will be up and running very soon.
